Specialised research services - Dutch equities, global financial markets, food and agricultural marketsBusiness intelligence provides an edge in volatile markets and sets our customers apart from the competition. We devote considerable energy to monitoring and understanding both the world of banking and the world beyond banking - because we know that financial, social and fundamental issues are very much connected. Our quality research resources are central to our success as a stable, consistent, knowledge-driven bank. To help build your own knowledge base we offer specialised research services in the following areas: Dutch equities, global financial markets, food and agricultural markets. Rural and agribusiness financial services expertsThat we are experts in rural and agribusiness financial services is a given. Through rural, corporate and business banking divisions, we have been providing customised lending and financial services in the various food and agribusiness sectors around the world for many years. Unparalleled market knowledge in combination with strong banking skills enable the creation of customised financial solutions that have a lasting impact on F&A companies’ business. What really stands out about Rabobank is our expertise and understanding of the industry from the 'micro' of local regional farming conditions, to the 'macro' of international commodity trade markets. SustainabilityRabobank International has adopted a corporate social responsibility assessment system that it applies to all customer credit applications and investment proposals from Rabo Private Equity. The focus is on combating undesirable practices such as child labour, poor working conditions, environmental pollution and deforestation. In addition, we substantially extended our range of sustainable investment products and developed innovative products such as the Dutch credit card with climate compensation. We also took action to exclude dubious companies from our pension fund’s investments and are taking steps towards achieving carbon-neutral business operations. Banking in developing countriesThe initial objective of the co-operative local Rabobanks was to provide financial services to those who had limited or no access to them, in particular, but not exclusively, in rural areas. Nowadays the availability of financial services in countries such as the Netherlands is no longer an issue. Rabobank is now extending its original objective to develop leading nationwide banks with a rural orientation in selected developing countries, thereby reaffirming its mission as a co-operative bank that was established with the purpose of overcoming certain market imperfections. It furthermore fulfils this objective through Rabo Development that acquires participating interests in partner banks in order to contribute to both developing the financial sector and in turn to promoting the development of the (rural) economies in these countries. |
