19 January 2009

Hogan Assessment Systems has released its 2007-2008 Business Outcome Highlights study, featuring return on investment (ROI) data from nine unique research studies. Hogan is an international authority in personality assessment and consulting and the findings by Hogan and its domestic partners are backed by over 30 years of research expertise.

Hogan's Business Outcome Highlights study covers a range of industries, including communications, transportation, law enforcement, pharmaceutical, finance, insurance and more. Featured case studies demonstrate the relationship between personality and job performance and illustrate the impact of Hogan assessments on business performance.

Jeff Foster PhD, director of research for Hogan Assessment Systems, and the Hogan Research Division continuously conduct these ROI studies using metrics specific to the goals of each organisation. He said: "The goal of each ROI study is to demonstrate the value of using Hogan tools. Hogan adheres to rigorous standards when conducting these studies to provide each client with reliable conclusions about the value of their assessment programme."

Highlights from the Hogan Business Outcome study include:

  • Using the Hogan selection process for financial advisors rewarded a substantial $8 million return on investment.
  • Transportation drivers meeting the high-fit criteria in the Hogan process had a 16% lower accident rate.
  • Managing partners who matched the Hogan profile averaged $175,000 more in sales than those not meeting the profile.
  • Using Hogan tools to select sales representatives for just one year dropped turnover rates by 30%.

CEO Dr Robert Hogan said: "Companies want proof that assessments predict job performance. Our Business Outcome Highlights study provides proof Hogan’s suite of assessments provides a significant, long-term return on investment."

The Hogan Research Division is composed of doctorate- and masters-level professionals in industrial-organisational psychology. Dr Hogan said: "We employ the largest group of researchers of any commercial test publisher and continuously update our extensive research archives with results from efforts such as those found in the Hogan Business Outcome Highlights study."

Companies that have participated in these ROI studies said Hogan had a solid track record of success in predicting employee job performance and continuously validated and fine-tuned the assessment process to meet company needs and improve bottom-line business results.
