Mercer has been named 'Best Group International PMI Intermediary' and 'Health Insurance Intermediary of the Year' at the 2012 Health Insurance Awards. The Heath Insurance Awards are the leading awards for the UK health insurance and protection industry, recognising excellence, innovation and, above all, outstanding service delivery, in both the intermediary and provider communities. The winners were chosen by a panel of five judges from across the industry.

A complex and innovative solution developed by Mercer's International Consulting Group for a large multinational client was recognised as the contributing factor in Mercer winning the award for 'Best Group International PMI Intermediary'.

Andy Cook, UK leader of Mercer's International Consulting Group commented, saying: "Our submission won on the basis of the firm's breadth and depth of expertise along with its unrivalled provision of services to multinational companies and our excellent knowledge of risk management strategies.

"Moreover, this award is a testament to the calibre and dedication of our international consultants and their ability to develop expert global solutions."

The winners of all the ten intermediary awards were put forward for the 'Health Insurance Intermediary of the Year' Award. Mercer's was deemed the best entry - one which showed 'corporate consulting at its very best', according to the judges.

John Anderson, UK leader of Mercer Marsh Benefits, said: "Mercer is delighted to have won this award and to be recognised as a leader in the field of health insurance and protection. We continue to strive for excellence in our health and risk services to clients. Through fostering an environment in which creative solutions can evolve, we ensure that plan management is geared towards our clients' ultimate business objectives."
