Announcing the Launch of SEVEN’s Rising Stars Programme

Thursday, October 27, 2011 by Seven Collaborative Solutions

SEVEN are proud to announce their sponsorship of Laura Scott, a UK athlete who is hoping to make the 2016 Olympics in the hammer discipline.

Laura was talent scouted for UK athletics after putting herself forward for a rowing competition - aptly named 'tall and talented'. UK athletics whittled down 3500 applicants and eventually 2 females were chosen in February this year and Laura was successfully selected to start her training and hopefully will become part of Team GB.

SEVEN are driven by the concept of helping organisations become great, especially the idea of helping companies in our home country become more effective and efficient and able to not only survive, but compete on the world stage. With that same mentality in mind, and with the world about to focus on the UK in 2012, we have also looked to see if we can help our future athletics and sports stars succeed and also become great.

Laura has now moved from St. Andrews University down to Loughborough in order to train full time working towards the 2014 Commonwealth Games and the 2016 Olympics. Throwing disciplines, especially female throwers, often receive little publicity and sponsorship, and SEVEN are proud to help address this and play a part in helping the next generation's sporting stars succeed.

Sean said "We are delighted to be able to support Laura on her athletics journey. She has a great: attitude and is clearly committed to achieving her full potential and we wish her the best of success".

Laura will be making regular posts in the SEVEN Blog of her journey and we are delighted to be able to share this with you. Follow Laura as she progresses - exciting times!
