Mantec Consultants: Excellence in service and technology – Ari S Brara

Mantec Consultants is a multidisciplinary consulting services company catering to the needs of organisations across the world, combining proven expertise in emerging technologies, and a strong understanding of new economy and business. The company's managing director, Ari S Brara, discusses how it finds clients from across different industries and how it develops strategies to help them.

Could you give us a bit of background about the company?
Ari S Brara:
Mantec Consultants was founded in 1979 by me, a professional with work experience in the US and India. The company was the first to offer a wide range of advisory services, covering executive recruitment, projects, the environment and IT. The organisation has since grown to its present form, attracting a large number of experienced full-time professionals from various fields.

What are the key services you offer clients?
Mantec has four independent divisions: HR, projects, environment and a fully fledged IT division at Noida, a satellite town of Delhi. We provide IT, ITES and business process outsourcing (BPO) services, including software development, data conversion, as well as running contact and call centres for the US and other foreign clients.

How do you make sure you have the expertise to help customers across such a wide range of fields?
Mantec has a pool of in-house professionals and associates in all the divisions specified above. This way, we are able to provide services of the highest standard that are practical and cost-effective to meet the needs of the clients.

The HR division of Mantec is an associate of Hudson Global Resources in the UK, a world-leading recruiting organisation; we help them with executive recruitment and training. We have also conducted a large number of tailor-made training programmes for in-company and outside participants for various organisations, as well as personal compensation surveys.

Mantec provides a complete range of environmental and social-impact assessment services with an expert in-house team of professionals and associates. Mantec has a fully fledged environmental laboratory duly recognised by the Ministry of Environmental and Forests (MoEF) and the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL). Mantec has also received ISO 9001: 2008 certification from AfriCert.

Mantec Consultants has been a pioneer in introducing, for the first time in India, the latest technologies and services in various fields. In our capacity as a technical associate, we represent Lockheed Martin Coherent Technologies, US; Mavi Deniz, Turkey; Kepner Plastics Fabricators, US; Darcy Spillcare Manufacture, UK; Adler and Allan Group, UK; and Megator, UK. Dun & Bradstreet has also recognised Mantec as one of India's top ITES and BPO companies.

Could you talk us through the process of taking on new clients: how do you identify its needs and develop a strategy to help?
Mantec has built up a very good reputation for the management consultancy services we provide. Besides the repeat clients we get, we obtain new clients by way of participation in various seminars and networking with trade delegates. We identify their needs based on our wide experience and discussions with the client, and we then identify their key result areas and provide solutions to them to their satisfaction in a cost-effective manner.

Who are some of your key clients?
Our key clients are various international organisations. They include, but are not limited to, Rolls-Royce India, International Road Dynamics, Raytheon, Haldor Topsoe, Snamprogetti, Apac Energy Rental, Webhelp UK, Lea Associates South Asia, Planomatic and Tristar.

How do you see the company developing in the next couple of years?
We have a strong US customer base, and would like to develop a strong UK customer base in the fields of outsourcing services covering customer support, tech support, BPO, back-office services and more.
