As part of the publishing industry's foray into the digital app space, Iowa-based CDS Global and Adobe Systems Incorporated have developed technology solutions that enable publishers to effectively transition from the print medium to digital media, and ensure that current print publications subscribers receive the award-winning content they crave in a digital format that is easily purchased and consumed on a broad range of tablet devices.

AdobeĀ® Digital Publishing Suite is a complete solution that includes viewer technology and hosted services that enable media and business publishers to create, distribute, monetize and optimize publications for tablet devices.

Digital Publishing Suite supports flexible commerce models, including single issue and subscription purchase within an application. Using the Viewer Builder Service included in Digital Publishing Suite, publishers can quickly enable direct entitlement without any custom coding - supporting in-app validation of current subscribers to quickly provide digital issues to customers with a print subscription. CDS Global's order management systems receive the validation requests, which are authenticated in real time, through the company's Web Service Gateway data exchange channel - providing a seamless transaction for the subscriber at the touch of a button within the application.

From the subscriber point of view, the experience is completely seamless and only requires the reader to click on a banner at the top of the application, which then begins the sign in and authentication process. When users are validated as current print subscribers, they can immediately sign into their account on their tablet to begin receiving their digital subscriptions.

"At CDS Global, we are able to deliver and enable content in multiple formats and for multiple devices that is easily authenticated and seamlessly joined together," says Malcolm Netburn, chairman and CEO at CDS Global.

"By working with leading app developers like Adobe, CDS Global is in a unique position to deliver on the current and future needs of publishers, providing a truly device-agnostic approach to content delivery.

"To be successful, publishers need the opportunity to promote and merchandise their broad stable of products to both existing and new readers," said Nick Bogaty, director, Business Development for Digital Publishing at Adobe.

"Through our alliance with CDS Global, publishers can now leverage their existing print accounts to drive increased digital subscriptions, offer print-digital bundles and cross-promote related titles for greater profitability."
