Niklas Zennström

As the CEO and co-founder of Skype, Niklas Zennström sets the company's business strategy and oversees all aspects of Skype's operations on an international; level. He reports directly to eBay CEO Meg Whitman and serves on eBay's executive committee.

Prior to Skype, Zennström founded KaZaA, the consumer file-sharing sensation that become the world's most downloaded internet software in 2003.

Today, he serves as a board member for both Joost, a company he co-founded with Friss, was set up to offer a completely new TV experience by combining the best of television and the internet. FON is the largest Wi-Fi community in the world.

Zennström started his professional career at Tele2 with the goal of expanding the company's business footprint across Europe. He holds dual degrees in physics/computer science from Uppsala University in Sweden. He spent his final year at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
