IEDC-Bled School of Management: A school with a view - Alenka Nedelko

With a curriculum ranging from seminars to programmes for corporate partners and top management, IEDC-Bled School of Management is committed to training tomorrow's outstanding business leaders, as Alenka Nedelko explains.

The IEDC-Bled School of Management is one of Europe's most prominent international management development institutions, celebrated by the Association of MBAs (AMBA) in 2012 for offering one of the four most innovative MBAs worldwide.

Based in Slovenia, in the heart of Central and Eastern Europe, it is also an important business meeting point, an international centre of excellence, and a creative environment where leaders of today and tomorrow come to learn and reflect. The school is further renowned for integrating art into the business curriculum. Since 1986, more than 70,000 participants from 78 countries have attended the IEDC's educational programmes and the school has been recognised for demonstrating significant leadership in integrating social, environmental and ethical issues into its initiatives. Some of the world's most eminent professors and consultants teach here.

Along with its highly-ranked International Executive MBA, Presidents' MBA and Executive PhD programmes, the IEDC offers short executive seminars for top management, customised programmes for corporate partners, and a wide range of general management schemes, including a five-week general management programme and two international summer schools for young managers and students. The school's newest programme, advanced management in tourism, starts in January 2015.

Professor Danica Purg, president of IEDC, was named the 2010 International Educator of the Year by the Academy of International Business (AIB) for her outstanding achievements in international business education. As the third European to receive the award she joins an elite list of deans from top international business schools around the world who have received the award.

The IEDC-Bled School of Management is the headquarters of the International Management Teachers Academy (IMTA), CEEMAN International Management Development Association, the European Leadership Centre (ELC) and the UN Global Compact Slovenia. It is also the founding partner of Challenge:Future, a think tank and open youth competition accelerating ideas and talent for the future.
