Aegis, a leading global business process outsourcing (BPO) provider and part of the Essar Group, today said it is recognised in the 2011 Aon Hewitt Associates Best Employers list in ANZ and India.
In ANZ, Aegis was the only IT/ITES company in the top 11 list of Aon Hewitt Best Employers which interviewed 124,000 employees across 130 organizations. Aegis joins the prestigious group of global players such as Johnson and Johnson, Ingelheim, FedEx, and Millward Brown.
This win in Australia is followed by Aegis being named one of the top 25 companies that provide the best working environment for its employees in a similar survey – the Aon Hewitt Best Employers in India 2011 Study. In India, Aegis joins the elite group of companies such as LG, Hindustan Unilever, Wipro, and Ford Group.
"We are very proud to be recognized in the 2011 Aon Hewitt Best Employers lists in Australia, New Zealand, and India. This recognition is testament to the hard work put in by our people at Aegis across these geographies," said Aegis Chief People Officer SM Gupta.
"The Aon Hewitt award showcases our employee-friendly HR practices that we have known for some time – great work / life balance, co-workers respect, and diversity at workplace."
One of the keys to Aegis achieving best employer status is its investment and commitment to diversity in the workplace. Employees ranked the work environment as being open with acceptance of individual differences.
James Rutherford, senior consultant, Aon Hewitt, commented: "The Aon Hewitt Best Employers in ANZ study is the largest employee research project and market practice audit in Australia and New Zealand. Accreditation under this program represents a significant accomplishment and demonstrates that Aegis has consistently achieved excellence in engaging and supporting its workforce. Aegis is particularly impressive in the area of accepting diversity in the workplace and respecting the thoughts and feelings of co-workers. Aegis can be very proud of their Aon Hewitt Best Employer accreditation status."
